How the Color was Chosen-
Navy Blue. Here is a continuation of the tradition of the royal Navy of Britain as the color symbolizes the sea. In the 50’s it was customary amongst officers to wear an officer’s cap, while the Navy had white sailor hats. A few years later the “popeye” hats were replaced by white hats that are similar in shape to the officers hat. It was then decided that the Corps Officers will wear Navy Blue Berets and the white hat will be worn only at official events.
