Krav Maga is the official self-defense method of the Israel Defense Forces.

It was devised by integrated into army training by Imi Lichenfield, a champion heavy weight boxer, Judo champion, and Jujitsu expert. A career officer in the IDF, he was also the chief instructor at the Army's physical training facility at the Wingate Institute.

Imi Lichenfield developed Krav Maga in the early forties, while fighting for the independence of the State of Israel. Since then, Krav Maga was adopted as the official martial art of the Israel Defense Forces, especially in the Elite Recon and Security units. It has since been adopted worldwide by many security forces and personnel, military and paramilitary organisations, as well as individuals.

Krav Maga is a simple and effective self-defense system based on instinctive movements and practical techniques. Its disciplined technique enables the individual to effectively defend himself quickly and effectively against both armed and unarmed attackers in unfamiliar situations and situations that limit movement.
